Marin Referral Network Meetings: A Professional Community of Marin County Entrepreneurs
Marin Referral Network members meet weekly on Thursday mornings from 7:45 – 9:00 AM on Zoom. Each meeting begins with informal conversation and networking. Guests are encouraged to come with an invitation from a member of the group. If you are interested in coming to a meeting and you do not have an invitation, contact us and someone will reach out to you with more information.
The structured portion of the meeting begins promptly at 8 a.m. We begin with each member presenting a 30 second overview of their business. Sometimes members spend this time sharing a story from their past week, perhaps it’s an anecdote that describes their business, or that time is spent honing their elevator pitch. After introductions, the first scheduled member gives a 10 minute, in depth presentation. This is an opportunity to showcase knowledge, skills, and talents, describe their target markets, and delve into other specifics of their businesses. Presentations help all of our members to better know each other to be able to give meaningful and valuable referrals.
Periodically, we will switch it up, and replace a presentation with a 10 minute group discussion. A topic of interest to all members, is seeded and explored by the group. These topics are business concerns such as: how to network effectively at events, best practices for closing deals, the importance of business integrity, and others.
Following the first presentation, each member reports on her/his activity for the past week. This includes individual meetings with other group members (1 to 1’s), qualified referrals given to other members, and closed business from group members. This reporting keeps us all focused on our purpose and mission.
Following the reporting period, another member gives their 10-minute presentation.
As a final activity, each member has an additional 30 seconds to offer a testimonial to another group member who is deserving of gratitude. Alternately, one can share a business tip, identify a networking opportunity, or present a business challenge they are facing.
Each meeting ends promptly at 9 a.m.
